Théophile ZOGNOU

Biography

Dr. Théophile ZOGNOU is the CEO of the Sangha Tri-National Trust Fund (FTNS) and President of CAFÉ (Consortium of African Funds for the Environment). He manages the FTNS, which holds a capital of approximately 65 million euros dedicated to conserving biodiversity and supporting sustainable development in the Sangha Tri-National region spanning the Central African Republic, Cameroon, and the Republic of Congo. Under his leadership, the fund has expanded significantly, fostering partnerships with international donors and promoting protection of this transboundary forest complex and World Heritage site.

In addition to his executive roles, Dr. Zognou is an associate professor teaching environmental and international law at several universities, including the University of Limoges and institutions in Cameroon. He holds a Ph.D. in international environmental law and brings extensive expertise in environmental governance, finance, and law. Dr. Zognou has also served on multiple environmental panels and leads efforts to strengthen conservation financing across Africa.
