Alfred Kuke is a social worker by profession. Alfred worked in number of development NGOs in Papua New Guinea for over a decade. However, his passion for rural development, inclusive governance and equitable distribution of decision-making powers motivated him to join Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program in May 2023 as its Governance and Engagement Manager. Since joining TKCP, he has contributed towards ensuring that indigenous people in the YUS Conservation Area have more opportunity to have the voice and space in strategic decision-making mechanisms in relation to sustainable natural resource management and its benefits. Alfred is passionate about rural economic empowerment and currently supports his team to deliver livelihood projects for the YUS Conservation Area ’s communities complimenting TKCP’s science programs.
