Sonam WANGDI

Biography

Mr. Sonam Wangdi currently works as the Chief of the Nature Conservation Division under the Department of Forests and Park Services of the Royal Government of Bhutan. As the Chief of this Division, he oversees the overall conservation programs in Bhutan both within and outside of Bhutan’s Protected Areas. As the Chief, he is responsible for providing policy guidance to the protected area system of Bhutan that includes, five national parks, four wildlife sanctuaries, one strict nature reserve, and also the network of biological corridors that interconnect these areas. He is also responsible for giving policy guidance on the conservation and protection of nature in Bhutan.
