Stephen WIDDICOMBE

I am Director of the Sharjah Marine Science Research Centre (SMSRC), at the University of Khorfakkan in the United Arab Emirates. This role allows me to further extend my leadership on the global stage, as I help build a thriving, internationally-recognised, marine research capability in the region. Before my move to the UAE, I was the Director of Science and Deputy Chief Executive at Plymouth Marine Laboratory. In this role, and previously as Head of Science for Marine Ecology and Biodiversity, I spent nearly 2 decades leading teams to deliver policy-relevant science that informs sustainable management of the oceans.
