Hear inspiring stories from the ground, explore practical models that scale globally, and connect with initiatives equipping local actors with the resources, skills, and agency to lead resilient, equitable, and effective conservation.

Session Description

This session explores, in a knowledge-exchange format, how locally led conservation, supported by targeted granting mechanisms of the Protected and Conserved Areas team, delivers effective and equitable environmental outcomes. It will showcase how local actors, empowered with tools, resources, and agency, scale resilient conservation initiatives and achieve measurable results. Success stories from local implementers will demonstrate how capacity building, innovative digital tools, and inclusive financing strengthen governance and improve ecosystem management. By linking the complementary approaches of BIOPAMA, BESTLIFE2030 and Tech4Nature, the session will illustrate how technology, institutional support, and small-sized grants reinforce each other to foster long-term conservation effectiveness. Participants will gain practical insights into how locally owned actions drive resilience, equity, and nature-positive impact at scale.
