Session Description
The IUCN Green List is a global community of practice driving effective, equitable, and inclusive conservation. This session will showcase milestones, concrete results, and lessons learned from protected and conserved areas worldwide that are applying the Green List Standard. Through short contributions from regional coordinators and site representatives, participants will gain insights into what has been achieved and what is working on the ground. A participatory fishbowl dialogue will then bring together voices from governments, Indigenous peoples, youth leaders, donors, and technical experts to exchange perspectives and identify opportunities for collaboration. The multilingual format (English, Spanish, and French) ensures diversity and inclusivity, while the interactive design fosters openness, learning, and collective ownership. The session will highlight how the Green List contributes to the 30x30 target of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, inspiring replication, scaling-up, and new partnerships for transformative conservation action.Moderator
