Particular qualifications:
Being in the Conservation arena for the last 50 years and being a member of the IUCN SSC multiple species specialist groups have been contributing at national,regional and international level for the works of the IUCN.Also handled the IUCN India National Committee secretariat for almost 10 years.Have been respionsible for setting up terrestiral,coastal and marine protected areas.As a professional trainer was and is responsible in capacity biuilding of conservation biologists and mangers in the region covering India,Nepal,Bangladesh,Srilanka and Pakistan.Have been co ordinating the works of national and international NGOs in the conservation sector as well as Government International agencies such as the USFWS and CSIRO.Have been contributing to the policy framework of National government as well as many of the International conservation NGOs and scientific societies for over three decades.Have been publishing academic peer reviewed papers in reputed journals on conservation related works on endangered species as well as spaces and serving as the editorial board member in some of the journals of repute.
Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:
Have been a member of the IUCN SSC multiple specialist group. Have handled IUCN Indian National Committee secretariat. Have assisted organising the IUCN Regional Conference in New Delhi. Have participated in at least three IUCN Regional and World Congress. Have been an active member of the Zoo community as well as the PA development initiatives of the region. Have constantly assisting in capacity building sector of the IUCNs sectors.
