Abdul Rahman MOHAMMED ALSHAYEB

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi 

 Dr. Al Naqbi currently serves as the Director General for Ras Al Khaimah Economic Development Department, Acting as Director General for RAK Environmental Protection and Development, chairing the Economic Development Committee at the Executive Council of Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Chairman Board of Ras Al Khaimah Statistics Centre, board member of RAK knowledge Department, Board member of RAK Economic Zones (RAKEZ). Currently acting Director General from RAK Environment Protection and Development Authority   

 He Earned his Ph.D. in area of Finance and Banking from Essex University, UK in 1999, and the master’s degree in management from University of Pittsburgh in 1994, USA. He spent most of his academic life at the national university of the country “UAE University”, where he became Associate Professor of Finance.  

 He has extensive administrative experience holding number of administrative positions at the UAE University. He was appointed as the Assistant Dean for Students, Business Administration Department Chairperson, Vice Dean, Acting Dean, Dean of Students, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Students and Registration at UAE University. 

 His professional and administrative experience have been strengthened by serving at both federal and local level as well as serving in government and private businesses. In 2007, he was seconded for RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a Director General for four years. He served in number of boards, professional and specialized committees, and task forces. He served in as a board member in numerous entities such as Sharjah Transport Authority, UAE Accountancy Society, Deputy chair of the Equivalency Committee at the Ministry of Education and RAK Reconciliation and Arbitration Centre.
