Session Description

This session will spotlight UAE-based initiatives and partnerships that create and scale innovative models supporting rural communities while advancing biodiversity conservation and cultural heritage. Framed through the lens of local communities across coastal, mountain, freshwater, and desert landscapes, the discussion will explore how sustainable farming, agritourism, and ecotourism can simultaneously strengthen food security, rural economies, and small businesses. The session will highlight best practices in arid-zone farming and nature-positive ecotourism pathways, co-designed with government, private sector, NGO partners, and local enterprises. Current and emerging partnerships will be presented as replicable models for scaling within the UAE and beyond.
