Key industries in the UAE are taking concrete steps to integrate biodiversity into their operations. This session will feature two leading players: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) and AD Ports Group. EGA has developed a Biodiversity Action Plan at its Al Taweelah and Jebel Ali sites, applying the mitigation hierarchy to safeguard ecosystems such as the Ras Ghanadah Marine Protected Area. The plan prioritises threatened species including sea turtles, dugongs, and Arabian gazelles, while aligning with international sustainability standards. AD Ports is advancing nature-positive port development through initiatives such as Biohuts in Khalifa Port to restore marine habitats, eco-engineered seawall panels to foster intertidal life, and environmental assessments guiding new port projects. The session will also highlight the partnership between EGA and AD Ports to enhance shipping efficiency and reduce impacts. Together, they show how UAE industries are moving from policy to practice in biodiversity stewardship.Organised by
