After the 2024 International NTFP Day, it’s time to amplify our calls. This podcast highlights how wild foods sustain communities, protect biodiversity, and support food security and health. Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities have long safeguarded these resources—now, their voices must take center stage.
Descripción de la sesión
NTFPs play a critical role in food security and health. They provide essential nutrition, medicinal resources, and materials for daily life. Many forest-dependent communities derive their sustenance from diverse NTFPs, which include edible plants, mushrooms, honey, and wild fruits. These resources are intricately linked to traditional health systems, where knowledge of their healing properties has been passed down through generations. This podcast will be a platform to forward calls on the protection of ancestral lands and empowering Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPs&LCs) to continue their sustainable practices. Forest to Table Podcast will also feature Indigenous Peoples, including women and youth, community leaders, and experts discussing how NTFPs shape our shared future.Organised by
