Por qué asistir

Learn through active discussions with practitioners about approaches to starting IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) assessments at national scales, different and innovative methods for compiling data and knowledge to assess ecosystems, and how RLE can be used to inform policy and conservation action towards the Global Biodiversity Framework.

Descripción de la sesión

The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) is a robust, evidence-based support tool for assessing risks to ecosystems, and has been adopted as a headline indicator under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. This session will build understanding and capacity for RLE through interactive knowledge sharing with RLE experts and national RLE champions. The session will start with brief showcase presentations from range of countries with national RLE assessments, and then move to an interactive discussion led by national experts from each region.
These discussions will allow participants to question and discuss the RLE process with local experts relevant to their region, learning about both the technical approaches and policy utility of RLE assessments in different regions, including from inception and assessment (including key challenges and solutions in the assessment processes), national buy-in and alignment with other policies, and use of results for planning, regulation, impact disclosure and monitoring.
