Por qué asistir

This event is both a sharing of experience and a public awareness campaign on the governance of international waters.

Descripción de la sesión

The water resource governance in sub-Saharan Africa faces multiple challenges, including growing resource scarcity, conflicts over use, and the impact of climate change. Increasing water scarcity and competition for access between different users (agriculture, industry, households) are generating tensions and even conflicts, particularly in transboundary river basins in Central and West Africa. This session is a reflection on water resource governance. Discussions and sharing of experiences will contribute to the appreciation of initiatives that contribute to strengthening the implementation of monitoring and management frameworks, pollution control, with the aim of improving the health, protection, and connectivity of freshwater environments in Central and West Africa.
