Join senior voices to discuss how the MENA region can build water resilience through regional co-operation, sound governance, and practical pathways, shaping inputs to the 2026 UN Water Conference and the 2027 World Water Forum.
Descripción de la sesión
This high-level roundtable discusses the strategic direction for water security in the MENA region. Using a region that is dynamic yet water-stressed as a lens, the session will frame how to move from reliance to resilience through clearer governance, practical regional co-operation, and market and policy signals that can encourage innovation and finance, while maintaining service affordability and safeguarding nature. Panellists will reflect on desalination’s evolving role, diversification of supply and demand measures, and the principles that guide collaboration under uncertainty. The aim is to connect regional leadership with the international agenda and shape input into two upcoming milestones: the 2nd United Nations Water Conference (UAE, 2026) and the 11th World Water Forum (Riyadh, 2027).Speaker
