Biography Daniela Denk 

SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi, Dr med vet, MRCVS, DiplECVP, RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Pathology (Zoo and Wildlife)

Daniela graduated from Munich Veterinary School in 2006 and completed her pathology residency at Liverpool University. Between 2011 and 2021, she worked in the Pathology Division of the International Zoo Veterinary Group, UK, specializing in diseases of avian, mammalian, reptile, and aquatic species. Following an interlude as an associate professor at LMU Munich, she joined the pre-opening veterinary team of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi in 2022. Since then, she has been responsible for all aspects of SeaWorld’s veterinary pathology. Daniela is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, an RCVS Recognized Specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Veterinary Pathology, and a veterinary advisor to the EAZA penguin TAG and serves on the DEI task force and education committee of the ECVP. She has longstanding expertise in penguin pathology and a special interest in infectious diseases and has contributed to two book chapters in “Pathology of Wildlife and Zoo Animals”. Daniela is an author of more than 45 scientific papers and regularly speaks at national and international scientific conferences. In her free time, she loves to spend time in nature, practice yoga, and dance, and is very passionate about food science.
