Tinne VAN DER STRAETEN

Tinne Van der Straeten is a member of the Belgian Federal Parliament. She served as Federal Energy Minister between October 2020 and January 2025.  During her term, she accelerated the energy transition with a focus on offshore wind. She was the vice chair of the IEA ministerial meeting in 2022 and was the president of the EU Energy Council when Belgium was holding the presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2024.

She worked as an energy lawyer before becoming a minister. 

She holds a master degree in Law and African Languages and Culture. She lives in Brussels with her 2 daughters.
