XIN CAO

Biografía

Xin Cao is an Associate Professor at the School of Landscape Architecture of Beijing Forestry University, and the BFU director of the Joint Lab of Heritage & Landscape Conservation in collaboration with ICCROM. Xin Cao is the Scientific Coordinator and Expert Member of ICOMOS-IFLA ISCCL (International Committee on Cultural Landscapes), an Expert Member of IUCN WCPA (World Commission on Protected Areas) and of IFLA World Heritage Programme, and a Council Member of the Yuan Ming Yuan (Old Summer Palace) Society of China. The primary research interests of Prof. Xin Cao include heritage conservation theory, cultural landscapes, mixed heritage, landscape conservation, and landscape planning & design. Xin Cao has been dedicated to the theoretical & practical research and education of heritage conservation for about 24 years. She has accomplished more than 40 projects as a project leader. Over the past years, she has been involved in the evaluation process of UNESCO World Heritage sites. She works with the WHL(World Heritage Leadership Programme) team to promote actions.
