Session Description

Adeline Pilon, creator of the carbon pool, will present alongside Julie Deter, who will be leading the restoration of 400 hectares of Posidonia meadows, funded by the pool.
Julie will highlight the critical role of Posidonia meadows —listed in the IUCN catalog—in sheltering 20-25% of the Mediterranean’s discovered marine species, including key biodiversity actors such as giant clams. Adeline will showcase how 20% of the pool’s funds support social, cultural, and conservation initiatives.
The session will feature video content showcasing the work of young researchers replanting seagrass and testimonials from youth-led NGOs.
We will also present the pool’s public-private governance, involving IUCN members, including Monaco Scientific Centre, Prince Albert II Foundation, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the PACA region.
Archipelago’s artistic direction, led by artist Yacine Ait Kaci, will be a guiding theme of the presentation, with special Augmented Reality experiences for the audience.
