This side event will spotlight how CBD Technical Support Centres (TSCs), including those led by IUCN, are helping countries turn global biodiversity commitments into real change on the ground. Since their launch, TSCs have been working with governments, communities, and partners to strengthen National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) through capacity building, policy support, and technical assistance. Participants will hear examples of regional cooperation and innovation, including the role of universities and research institutions in bringing scientific knowledge and training into practice. The event will also highlight how TSCs are bridging global ambition with local realities by linking biodiversity with climate action, food systems, restoration, and livelihoods. Through dialogue with experts and partners, the session will explore opportunities to scale up and sustain TSC operations—showing why investing in them is a smart step toward resilient, nature-positive futures.Organised by
