Session Description

Are we genuinely embracing diversity in conservation, or are we trapped in outdated silos? This session critically examines how current conservation approaches integrate—or overlook—diverse perspectives, including human rights, gender, cultural, and ethnic dimensions. By challenging the compartmentalisation of people, nature, and climate, this dialogue brings together key stakeholders to explore what works, what must change, and how practitioners and donors can reimagine conservation for more inclusive and impactful outcomes.

This session is an opportunity to challenge both conservation and donor communities to uphold human rights, inclusion, and equity by investing directly in grassroots leaders who protect nature, ensuring funding aligns with their priorities rather than external agendas.
