Join us to explore how forest literacy can drive sustainability and planetary health. Discover how PLT's new resources can help develop the knowledge and skills the current and future generations need to think critically about their environment and make informed decisions in order to conserve it.

Descripción de la sesión

This interactive presentation will advance the development of a forest-literate society motivated to reach sustainable development and conservation goals, such as the biodiversity crisis and climate resilience. Our work is grounded in the belief that we cannot achieve planetary health by focusing on current conservation goals alone at the detriment of preparing future generations with the knowledge and skills to think critically about their environment and make informed decisions in order to conserve it. We will explore two free resources developed by Project Learning Tree (PLT): PLT’s Forest Literacy Framework and Forest Literacy Online Course - that can be used by young people, educators, policy makers, forest and conservation sector employers, among others to expand the understanding of the value and benefits of trees, forests, and sustainable forest management for conservation.
