We argue that debates about vegetable oils are clouded by myths and selective scrutiny, unfairly vilifying some crops while overlooking others. What truly matters are governance, transparency, and management practices. We call for nuanced, evidence-based, system-wide approaches to sustainability instead of simplistic crop-based narratives
Descripción de la sesión
In our session, we will:1. Explore how science-driven messaging and trusted messengers can influence decision-making at industry, policy, trade, and consumer levels.
2. Identify key behaviour change interventions that can improve the sustainable production and consumption of vegetable oil crops across supply chains.
3. Propose practicable measures for researchers and practitioners that can drive behaviour change in their particular sectors.
4. Discuss how the Oil Crops Task Force should evolve post-2026 to enhance its impact in policy, research, and stakeholder engagement
