Descripción de la sesión
The trilateral cooperation project, supported by BMZ, China’s National Forestry and Grassland Administration, GIZ, and IUCN, aims to strengthen the effectiveness and equity of protected and conserved areas in Africa. This session will share progress from Zambia and Namibia, where the IUCN Green List Standard is guiding improvements in protected area governance and management. It will highlight lessons on partnership models that bridge global commitments with national implementation, and demonstrate how international cooperation can deliver measurable biodiversity, climate, and community outcomes. Representatives from governments, partners, and local stakeholders will discuss achievements, challenges, and pathways for scaling up fair and effective area-based conservation across the continent in alignment with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.Organised by
