Building on a successful framework partnership with IUCN, Korea’s Ministry of Environment, the National Institute of Ecology, and the IUCN Korea Committee have developed collaborative capacity-building programs for corporate nature-related disclosures.
Descripción de la sesión
The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM GBF) Target 15 calls on businesses to assess and disclose their dependencies and impacts on biodiversity, aiming to reduce nature-related risks and negative outcomes. As a headline indicator, the number of companies producing nature-related disclosures underscores the importance of enabling frameworks and institutional capacity. In Korea, a dedicated capacity-building program was implemented to strengthen corporate readiness for nature-related disclosure. Jointly developed with the IUCN Academy, the initiative engaged ecological and economic experts as well as IBAT specialists to provide tailored training. This session will highlight the program’s outcomes, achievements, and best practices.
Participants in this event will engage in dynamic discussions to refine capacity-building frameworks, accelerate corporate nature-related disclosure practices, and help shape the future of global TNFD implementation through collaborative innovation. The session will also share IUCN’s strategic directions and the IUCN Academy’s future plans, while exploring opportunities for regional collaboration across East Asia.
