Por qué asistir

Discover how scientific assessments, geospatial analysis, and stakeholder engagement are guiding large-scale Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) under RECAP4NDC; the session will highlight how degraded landscapes in Indian states were identified, prioritized, and validated using a data-driven methodology, ensuring targeted restoration efforts that maximize ecological and socio-economic benefits.

Descripción de la sesión

Restoring degraded landscapes requires scientific precision, strategic prioritization, and involvement of multiple stakeholders. Under the RECAP4NDC initiative, a comprehensive geospatial and multi-criteria decision-making process was employed to identify and prioritize several hectares of degraded landscapes in Indian states for Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) interventions. This session will highlight: 1. The methodology behind landscape prioritization, integrating ecological, socio-economic, and policy indicators. 2. How geospatial tools and field validation supported in decision-making for effective FLR implementation. 3. Provide a roadmap to make informed decisions regarding site selections for restoration. By linking scientific assessments with policy and community-driven approaches FLR efforts ensure meaningful contribution to climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and national restoration targets.
