Learn directly from Indigenous Peoples and local communities about resource mobilization for Target 19(f), GEF-supported pathways, rights-based, Mother Earth–centric finance, and practical models for direct access that uphold non-commodification while advancing effective, community-led biodiversity conservation and equitable partnerships
Descripción de la sesión
In this session, Indigenous Peoples and local communities will share practical approaches to mobilizing resources for Target 19(f) of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, spotlighting GEF-supported actions. Speakers will discuss funding and partnerships grounded in Mother Earth–centric, ecocentric, and rights-based principles that strengthen community-led conservation. The event will highlight experiences with direct access to resources, governance arrangements that respect the non‑commodification of Mother Earth’s environmental functions, and collaboration models that nurture reciprocal relationships between people and nature. Participants will gain insight into enabling conditions, safeguards, and partnership mechanisms that channel finance to Indigenous custodians, sustain the continuity of all living beings and their communities, and deliver measurable biodiversity outcomes. Join us to learn how equitable, Indigenous-led partnerships are essential to safeguarding the planet while advancing effective, scalable solutions for biodiversity.Organized by
