Biographie

Le Dr Hany El-Shaer est un leader environnemental et un expert en conservation de la nature, avec plus de 25 ans d’expérience dans des organismes gouvernementaux et internationaux, spécialisé dans la conservation de la biodiversité, la gestion des aires protégées et le développement durable. En tant que Directeur régional de l’Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN) pour la région de l’Asie de l’Ouest depuis 2009, il pilote les stratégies de conservation à l’échelle régionale, supervise des portefeuilles de projets à grande échelle, et développe des partenariats solides avec les gouvernements, les bailleurs de fonds, les ONG et le secteur privé.

Titulaire d’un doctorat en études environnementales de l’Université d’Alexandrie, il possède également plusieurs diplômes supérieurs obtenus en Égypte, au Royaume-Uni et en Italie, dans les domaines de la gestion environnementale, des écosystèmes marins, des systèmes d’information géographique (SIG) et de la télédétection. Il est reconnu pour son expertise technique dans les évaluations d’impact environnemental, la surveillance écologique et la valorisation des ressources naturelles
