Liliana Núñez Velis
Born in Havana, she graduated in History. Currently, she is the president of the Antonio Núñez Jiménez Foundation (FANJ), which is based in Havana and has several offices across the country.
She has participated in various geo-historical expeditions in Cuba and the Caribbean.
For 30 years, she has promoted environmental projects and programs at the national level, facilitating cooperation among stakeholders and ensuring that the voices of local communities and scientific experts are heard in decision-making processes. This includes topics such as species conservation, protected areas, urban green spaces, fragile ecosystems, sustainable entrepreneurship, circular economy, agroecology, and heritage conservation. She has experience in promoting environmental dialogues that facilitate conflict resolution and foster mutual understanding among the different parties involved. Additionally, she has experience in launching environmental communication campaigns aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing communities around critical ecological issues. She also has experience in museum and art gallery management and has published several books on topics related to her field of expertise.
