Reptiles of Sharjah: Diversity, endemism and conservation priorities
Session Description
The Emirate of Sharjah with its varied habitat types supports one of the richest reptile assemblages within the United Arab Emirates. This talk explores the diversity of reptile species found across the Emirate, with particular focus on endemic taxa and those of high conservation concern. Key species are highlighted, alongside the current conservation measures in place to safeguard vulnerable populations. The presentation aims to raise awareness of Sharjah’s unique herpetofauna and to emphasise the importance of continued conservation efforts in the face of growing environmental pressures.Organised by
