Why attend
By presenting practical experience in developing an Indicator System to measure the results of Public-Private Cooperation Agreements for 7 Brazilian protected areas, we understand the difficulties of demonstrating improved performance of these supported areas in relation to the resources received, both for management and for the private partner.
Session Description
We will address the importance and process of developing indicator systems to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of resource use through Cooperation Agreements in protected areas. The support that protected areas receive from the private sector primarily contributes to Targets 3 and 15 of the Global Biodiversity Framework. The results of these contributions of goods and services and their outcomes need to be monitored by clear and applicable outcome and impact indicators that, when measured systematically, demonstrate the progress achieved by these Cooperation AgreementsPartners
