Why attend
Come and learn about the new Facility: Tailored Local Support for Small Islands Developing States, and share your perspectives to shape the first phase of our Asia-Pacific Pilot.
Session Description
Drawing from the lessons learned of IUCN catalytic grant mechanisms such as Blue Carbon Accelerator Fund and Blue Natural Capital Financing Facility, the event will introduce the new Tailored Local Support Facility, designed to enhance the regenerative blue economy in Small Island Developing States, and its Asia-Pacific Pilot. SIDS face a variety of challenges, including special circumstances due to their unique geographical, economic and environmental vulnerability. Recognising the interconnected climate, biodiversity, and pollution crises, the Pacific Pilot aims to support solutions that reduce marine plastic pollution and enhance the resilience of sensitive marine and coastal biodiversity and ecosystems, such as mangroves, corals, and seagrasses. Come and share your perspective during this consultation event to help shape and increase investment in Pacific-led solutions that protect the ocean, people, and their livelihoods.Organised by
