This session gathers biodiversity NGOs, think tanks, corporates and financial institutes to exchange practices, and together explore how green finance and nature-related disclosures can drive business transition towards nature-positive outcomes, aligning with SDGs and UNCBD KMGBF Target 15.
Session Description
Business nature positive transition is urgently required for achieving SDGs and targets in Kunming-Montreal GBF, considering business motivated infrastructures are the head drive for biodiversity loss. Financial sectors place important role in the transition, by minimizing biodiversity impacts of their investments, financing nature conservation, as well as motivating companies to disclose nature-related information. For accelerating financial sector transition, stakeholders including NGOs, think tanks, corporates and financial institutes have been working on policy alignment, innovative tools, and corporate accountability mechanisms and practices. This session exchanges latest progress on this topic by inviting experts from financial institutes, think tanks, corporates and civil societies, especially showing cases of Chinese investors’ engagement and practices. Interactive discussions will address challenges in risk assessment, standardizing disclosures, and fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships.Organised by
