Session Description
As climate risks escalate, practitioners face mounting challenges in designing effective, inclusive, and sustainable adaptation strategies. This interactive session, convened under Global Affairs Canada’s Partnering for Climate initiative, introduces a new Operational Framework that helps practitioners bridge gaps in project design, monitoring, gender equality, and social inclusion. Rooted in six core principles—ranging from ecosystem integrity to responsive governance and evidence-based learning—the Framework draws on lessons from 30+ countries and 150+ organizations. Participants will engage with five projects across Africa, including from Senegal and Kenya, showcasing how nature-based, human rights–centered, and gender-responsive actions strengthen resilience. Through dialogue and case exchange, attendees will gain insights into practical tools and methodologies, such as natural capital accounting and GIS prioritization, that make adaptation efforts more impactful. Join us to explore how practitioner-driven, inclusive approaches can unlock the full potential of nature for climate resilience.Organised by
