Session Description
The BIOPAMA partnership combines the protected areas and the biodiversity conservation expertise of IUCN with the scientific know how of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC). Launched in 2012 and reaching its conclusion at IUCN Congress in 2025, BIOPAMA has been one of IUCN's largest and longest-running grant programmes. Implemented across 79 countries, through almost 160 grantees to the tune of 60 million euros, the legacy of BIOPAMA in laying the foundations for the 2030 agenda is undeniable. This event will showcase this impact, through the voices of the protected and conserved area managers that have pioneered effective and equitable conservation in their contexts.Speaker
