Biography
Jacinta Abalaka is a conservation biologist with over 20 years experience in capacity building in conservation and ecology, and 10 years experience in grant and resource management. She has worked with Society for Sustainability and Conservation Education for Rural Areas (SCERA) on every project since inception, playing a major role in grant writing, project planning and implementation, and has led the organisation's team to implement high-impact projects. With a PhD in Conservation Genetics, Jacinta heads the APLORI (A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute) Molecular Ecology Lab with a passion for the study of the population genetics of African species
