Why attend

For a lively exchange of ideas about what truly transformative conservation practice could look like.

Session Description

This session is an interactive discussion about the shifts needed in conservation practice to achieve transformative change for Nature. Starting points will include perspectives of Indigenous Peoples and local communities on the shortcomings of current conservation models; input from the Transformative Change assessment about key leverage points; and examples of emerging alternative conservation approaches. The discussion will centre on how to go beyond incremental changes to address the root causes of inequality, separation from Nature and biodiversity loss.
