Maher MAHJOUB

Biography

Maher Mahjoub brings over 25 years of experience in the conservation sector. He is the Director of the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation in Málaga, Spain. Since joining IUCN in 2011 as North Africa Programme Coordinator, he has led programmes across the Mediterranean, working with governments, research institutions, and civil society. Before IUCN, he spent 12 years in Tunisia’s Ministry of Environment and served as Regional Vice Chair of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas for North Africa and West Asia (2009–2011). Maher holds a degree in geological engineering and a master’s from the Faculty of des Sciences, University of Tunis.
