Dr. Kim Gruetzmacher is Head of the Division for International Nature Conservation at the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, where she works with a dedicated team on a wide range of global biodiversity and nature conservation processes, including the CBD, Ramsar, UNESCO, IUCN and others, as well as bilateral cooperation in nature conservation. A Wildlife and Conservation Veterinarian with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and years of experience in public health/zoonoses research, she has been working for two decades at the interface of biodiversity and health. She is convinced that health is a powerful lever to make the impacts of global environmental change tangible and relevant for people and societies.
