Javier MÁRQUEZ

Javier Marquez Executive Director of Defensores de la Naturaleza, has worked on conservation and sustainable development actions for more than 27 years. With extensive experience working with local communities and environmental authorities, he has been part of the Foundation's team that has achieved the conservation of natural ecosystems, supported the sustainable development of local communities, environmental citizen advocacy and definitely the contribution in Guatemala to the Sustainable Development Goals. In recent years Javier Marquez has led the Foundation on a path where inter-institutional alliances seek the conservation of biodiversity in Guatemala.
