Session Description
The session “Aquascapes, Landscapes, and the Global Pact: A Connected Approach to Ecosystem Conservation” will highlight the importance of linking aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems within global conservation strategies. The event opens with a participatory question to the audience, sparking reflection on how to secure attention and financing for ecosystems amid multiple global crises. Case studies will showcase freshwater, marine, and terrestrial landscapes, with contributions from experts including Coralie Palmer, James Dalton, and Maria Teresa Vargas, as well as insights from the IUCN’s Source-to-Sea platform, GEF Freshwater Challenge and Fundación Natura Bolivia. Perspectives from funders, policymakers, and indigenous communities will emphasize the challenges and opportunities for integrated conservation. Audience interaction through Mentimeter will ensure a dynamic exchange of ideas. By bringing together diverse voices, this session seeks to inspire collaborative solutions and align local realities with global commitments, fostering resilient and inclusive approaches to ecosystem conservation.Organised by
