How to register

Accreditation is via the official IUCN World Conservation Congress registration platform.

Online accreditation is the only official channel for media representatives to register for the 2025 IUCN World Conservation Congress. IUCN is not able to process accreditation requests sent through any other channel (e-mail, post, etc).

Media accreditation is reserved for media professionals (print, photo, radio, television, film, news agencies and online media) who represent a bona fide media organisation, and those aged at least 18 years old on 9 October 2025.

Follow these steps:

  • Register through the official platform, supplying the requested personal information outlined in the FAQ.
  • Identify as media. This can be done by selecting ‘private sector’ under ‘type of organisation’, then ‘media and communication’ organisation.
  • Specify virtual or onsite participation.
  • Under ‘registration fees’ select media representative, cost 0. Please note accreditation is free.
  • Provide the required supporting documents. These are: Three recent articles or stories you have written or produced, with your by-line clearly showing. Please supply links to the media outlet where it is published. These need to be uploaded in a word or PDF document. For audio and video files, please provide a time stamp of the section featuring your name.

If possible, please supply copies of:

  • A valid press card
  • A letter of assignment on official letterhead of the media organisation (signed by the publisher / assignment editor, Editor-in-Chief or Bureau Chief) specifying the name and functional title of the journalist.

If uploading your press card and assignment letter, please share PDF or image files using the upload function in the accreditation form. File size limit is 5 MB.

Confirmation and next steps

The IUCN Registration Congress team will review and process your application once all required documents are submitted. Additional credentials may be requested before approval.

Please allow up to 14 working days to receive confirmation of your registration.

If your press accreditation is successful, you will be notified via the email supplied. Please keep this email for your records.

We will not be sending accreditation badges via mail. You will need to come in person and present your Photo ID to collect your pass at the event.

Press will have the option to request a visa invitation letter while completing the online registration form to facilitate their entry into the UAE. Further information on visas and travel arrangements can be accessed here.
