Why attend

The IUCN Members' Assembly is the Union’s highest decision-making body, offering a unique opportunity for Members to shape global conservation and sustainable development policy.

Session Description

Through voting on motions, approving the 20-year Strategic Vision for the Union, IUCN Programme and Financial Plan, and electing the President and Council, Members meet to directly influence the strategic direction and leadership of the organization. Members also have the chance to engage in debates and contribute to the adoption of policies that impact international environmental treaties and national legislation.

Beyond governance, the Assembly serves as a vibrant forum for networking and knowledge exchange among governments, NGOs, Indigenous peoples' organizations, and other stakeholders. It fosters collaboration, innovation, and shared learning, empowering participants to drive transformative action for nature and humanity. By attending, Members help set the global conservation agenda and contribute to building a sustainable future.
