This event will present the strategic priorities of the newly launched Global Coalition to Halt the Extinction of Sharks and Rays, announced at the UN Ocean Conference in June 2025. It will highlight next steps to safeguard key habitats and ecological connectivity, ensure sustainable and legal trade, and strengthen national, regional, and global coordination. By showcasing the Coalition’s shared agenda, the session will emphasize the urgent need for collaborative action to secure the future of sharks and rays and the ecosystems they support.
