Why attend

OECMs are essential for achieving Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Join us to find out how they can build a stronger conservation network, with case studies from various jurisdictions worldwide.

Session Description

In 2018, the Convention on Biological Diversity has defined other effective conservation measures. Today, national, subnational and local governments are actively working to adapt this concept to their own contexts and reality. In this session, you will learn how several jurisdictions around the world have adapted the concept of OECMs, and how these territories can contribute to establishing a solid conservation network and achieving the target of conserving 30% of terrestrial, freshwater, marine and coastal environments by 2030.
