Why attend

This session is designed for those eager to learn about the new IUCN CEM book “Applying the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions™: 21 case studies from around the globe”. Participants will learn about the book from lead authors and editors, and through a Q&A session with case studies authors.

Session Description

This session will officially launch the new IUCN CEM book “Applying the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions™: 21 case studies from around the globe”, the results of a 3.5 years involving over 73 experts from 23 countries.
In the book, 21 case studies were carefully selected all around the globe, assessed against the NbS Global Standard’s Self-Assessment Tool, and analysed. This session aims at sharing with the public the main results of this global analysis, showcasing the different types of stakeholders involved; major societal challenges addressed; and major lessons learned on the use of the NbS-GS and on the implementation of NbS in diverse geographic, cultural and ecological contexts. The book's objectives, methodology and main outcomes will first be presented, followed by a short case study presentation. Then a Q&A session will allow the audience to interact directly with multiple IUCN CEM experts involved in this publication.
