Why attend
Participants will interact with those working in the field, hear stories from real-life experience, be provided practical guidance on how to initiate their own Earth-centred actions for conservation through law and policy, see the support of organizations and networks, and inform the work of a global movement.
Session Description
This session will bring together youth leaders of the international Earth Jurisprudence and Rights of Nature movements to share stories of the successes, challenges, and methodologies in their community-led, intersectional, inter-sectoral work, and with participants, explore together how to strengthen and build solidarity in efforts that aim to protect the entire community of life through an Earth-centred approach to law and governance. Through the different approaches (e.g., Indigenous law and governance, rights of rivers, rights of wetlands, etc.), this session will provide (1) stories of experience from experts/practitioners; (2) explicit guidance on a methodology for engagement on this issue, from start to implementation; and (3) in real-time and alongside the participants, the space for critical input and inquiry on the issues and approaches to strengthen and build solidarity for this movement.Organized by
