Why attend

Founded to safeguard the integrity of nature, IUCN now faces a pivotal moment in defining its position on the role of genetic engineering in nature conservation. This session will shed light on Motion 133 and the debates that will shape this decision.

Session Description

Speakers from the scientific community and NGOs will share their perspectives on the proposed moratorium. They will consider the implications of these technologies for biodiversity, raise ethical questions and address issues affecting Indigenous Peoples.
