Why attend

How to assess ecosystem status (RLE), apply these insights to guide restoration planning, apply SER stepwise modes, select site-matched native species, and design restoration for nature-positive, climate-adaptive, and socially secure outcomes in Asia.

Session Description

This interactive session provides practitioners and policymakers in Asia with hands-on tools for effective restoration, linking the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems and Stepwise Ecological Restoration (SER). It highlights practical steps to match restoration strategies and species selections to ecosystem status—ensuring the right species in the right place—while embedding principles for nature-positive outcomes, One Health, NbS for climate adaptation, and social security. With case scenarios, expert insights, and facilitated exercises, participants will gain the capacity to plan and implement restoration projects that restore biodiversity, benefit community health and livelihoods, and deliver climate resilience and equity for vulnerable groups.
