Habitat design today is based on species biology, behavior, and climate needs, while also balancing visitor experience, safety, and sustainability. Sand Cat Population Management Al Ain Zoo plays a leading role in the conservation of the Sand Cat (Felis margarita), a small and elusive desert carnivore adapted to arid environments. The zoo’s population management program integrates ex-situ breeding, genetic management, and welfare standards with in-situ conservation support to maintain a healthy, sustainable captive population while contributing to species survival in the wild.Speaker
