Why attend
This session offers a unique opportunity to explore how inclusion strengthens conservation impact. Youth leaders and practitioners will demonstrate practical ways to make climate and nature-based solutions accessible to people with disabilities and other under-represented groups.
Session Description
This youth-led session spotlights how inclusion drives stronger conservation outcomes. Building on the UAE’s momentum and youth leadership at ZHO, we showcase practical tools to make nature-based solutions, protected areas, urban green spaces, and climate programmes accessible to people with disabilities and other under-represented groups. Through lightning insights and a participatory fishbowl, POD practitioners share case studies on co-design, low-cost accessibility improvements, inclusive volunteer pathways, and data-driven monitoring. Participants will leave with a mini “inclusion checklist,” sample language for grants/ToRs, and ideas to embed accessibility from planning to evaluation. The session bridges conservation, health and social equity, demonstrating how inclusive design accelerates nature-positive action while expanding youth participation and green-jobs pipelines.Organised by
